Can’t Save People Who Don’t Want to Be Saved

For the past 19 months, many of us, me included, have been trying to save our Democracy from complete collapse. We have tried to reason with Republicans who have sacrificed their integrity to curry favor with the President of the United States and we’ve tried to redirect, the many lost Black people who’ve followed them down that rabbit hole.

Despite our best efforts, those same Republicans, many of whom have condemned trump in the past including his Vice President, and his Secretary of State, have gone from describing him in the worse terms, now are calling his praises. Vance used words like “idiot” and even “Hitler” to describe trump and once wrote that “trump makes people I care about afraid. Immigrants, Muslims, etc. Because of this I find him reprehensible. God wants better of us.” Marco Rubio once referred to trump as a “conman.” Each of these men are now key members of the President’s inner circle.

And for those naïve Blacks who can’t seem to get out of their own way in dismissing trumps racism, how about this quote from the enlightened one, “Black guys counting my money! I hate it. … I think that the guy is lazy. And it’s probably not his fault, because laziness is a trait in blacks.” Then there this famous Trumpism, about Black men in the District of Columbia, some Black people in Washington, D.C., are “born to be criminals.”

“They’re hard core. They’re not going to be good in 10, in 20 years, in two years. They’re going to be criminals — they were born to be criminals, frankly.” Yet roughly one in five xe2x80x94 about 21% xe2x80x94 of Black men who voted in the 2024 Presidential Election voted for trump. You are talking about a special class of give some chicken and change Negroes, these take the cake.

Well today, is the day, that I’ve decided that I can’t save Republicans and their Black buck dancing group of little rascal rejects, from becoming slaves to donald trump (lower case spelling intentional).

No matter what lie he tells, or illogical or stupid thing he does, millions of Americans of all races, knowing that he is lying, disregard the lies and repeat what he says as the gospel truth. Even when the lie is harmful to them, they refuse to rebut it. For example, the entire country is being impacted negatively by the undeclared war against Iran, prices and availability of commodities, especially fuel has doubled in price since the Biden years. Other goods are short supply, and farmers can’t get enough fertilizer for their crops to thrive, setting the potential for a food shortage. In spite of the inflationary and artificially inflated prices and shortages, a solid group of Americans refuse to question or lose faith in the President.

Now while it may seem that this article is about the failings and shortcomings about President trump, that’s not my intention. donald trump is a product of our own creation. We empowered him, the voting public did that, and now we’re suffering the consequences of our own folly. His conduct as President should surprise no one. What I want you the readers to focus on, is how Republicans in Congress just abandoned highly held Democratic norms, without a shot being fired, no attack on the United States by any foreign adversary. We just passively and quietly abandoned our Democracy to a wanna be dictator.

Can anybody explain to me how misguided Republicans and their black sycophants, can just ignore the sacrifices of the men and women who planted the flag at Iwo Jima, who slogged through jungles of Vietnam, fought the Battle of the Bulge and liberated prisoners from holding pens in Germany, in the name of protecting Democracy, and so easily turn their back on it?

What is it about Republicans that they can be so stupid that they blindly follow a man who has destroyed the social safety net, a man who is subjecting Americans to artificially created medical and food shortages, who is putting the lives of senior citizens in jeopardy through his policies? No, it’s not about the party they belong to, it’s the absence of spine and a moral center that has caused such cowardice. There can be no other explanation. You rolled over so easily, and the enemies of Democracy didn’t have to lift a finger? Shame on you.
